| Business Success Workshop Review |
|
WestCompany writes, "The workshop "Fighting the Titans of Retail" was held on May 29th, 2008 at the Baymont Inn and Suites in Willows from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and it was offered by the Glenn County Business Services Program of the Glenn County Human Resources Agency. Millions of opportunities exist which provide a chance for businesses to make money. The small local business is in a position to take advantage of many of those opportunities by providing quality and service. Workshop speaker, Kenny Parlet, provided examples of marketing techniques which will help the small business succeed despite the retail giants like Wal-Mart and Costco. "

| Welcome Dakota! and goodbye again... |
susie writes, "In October we welcomed a new foster dog to our family.
He is Dakota and he belongs to a soldier who cannot have him with him at the moment because he is doing special training. They will be able to be together again when they will fly together to Dad's new posting in Japan. In the meantime Dakota is a very well behaved houseguest who is getting along well with Gopher and the cats. We are glad that we can help out his Dad in this tough time of his life!
Update December: Dakota's Dad arrived today to pick him up. Dakota recognized him right away and was very happy to see him. There is still some red tape to go through before he can be flown to Japan but at least for a while they are together...."
